Zoning Board or Adjustment Minutes

May 4, 2004 Public Hearing/Meeting

Roll call: Chairman Richard Parker, Joan Skewes, John Ronan, Daniel Chaisson, and alternate, John Andreasse

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m.

 

Continuation of the Application of John and Ruth Doyle, 60 Cottage Road, Kensington, NH, Map 8, Lot 41, for a Special Exception in accordance with Article 8.4 A.5 for an In-Law Apartment.  Mr. Doyle met with the Board explaining that he still needs to finish a few items, however, he presented a sketch for parking and the square footage.  He will work on obtaining a statement from the Board of Health that they are satisfied with the septic system, and finalize a meeting with the building inspector, Bill Grant.  John Andreasse moved to continue the hearing to the next meeting so that the applicant can bring in the required information, seconded by John Ronan with all in favor.

 

Application of Philip Lariviere, 179 South Road, Kensington, NH, Map 5, Lot 3, for a Special Exception in accordance with Article 8.4 A.5 for an In-Law Apartment.  Gloria and Philip Lariviere presented plans for a 563 sq. ft. in-law apartment.  Mr. Lariviere explained that they have a back up septic plan prepared in case it is needed in the future.  The requirements were reviewed with all criteria being met.  Abutters Jim and Kevin Rosencrantz attended speaking in favor of the special exception.  Abutter Mrs. H. Nadler had sent in a note stating, “…that I see no objection at all to their plans.”  The Letter of Authorization was signed by Richard Parker.  Joan Skewes moved to approve the special exception for an in-law apartment, seconded by John Andreasse with all in favor.

 

Resident Peter Merrill spoke with the Board regarding how the in-law approvals are being followed up for compliance.  The members explained that the Letter of Authorization is filed with the Registry of Deeds so that anyone interested in purchasing the property will be aware that the apartment can only be used by in-laws.

 

Approval of April 6, 2004 minutes – Dan Chaisson moved to approve the April 6, 2004 minutes as written, seconded by John Andreasse with all in favor.

 

Joan Skewes moved to adjourn at 8:25 pm, seconded by Dan Chaisson with all in favor.
