Kensington Recreation Committee Minutes

December 14, 2005

Meeting began at 7:00 at the town Hall

In attendance: Mary Jane Solomon

KYAA members: John Andreasse, John Ash, Mark Finerty

John Andreasse announced Kensington youth baseball is incorporating with Exeter as is Newfields. This is a no-cut program that would include all Kensington youth wishing to play baseball. One stipulation is that Kensington playing fields need to be available. John Andreasse will attend the upcoming selectmen’s meeting along with a Rec. member to present this and ask for approval.

Brief discussion on play area at Sawyer Field. Layout is such that situating a play area away from traffic but within sight of spectators would be difficult. Also discussed was the purchase of a batting cage and where it could go if there was one.

Reminder to all of the necessity of acquiring proof of insurance from anyone contracted to do work on town property before work commences.

John Andreasse announced he is willing to come aboard the Rec. committee as Dan Provost’s replacement. As John is actively involved in KYAA, he will maintain a strong attachment with that committee and its needs.
