Kathy Cook and Lorraine Petzy were available the evening of November 9^th, the regularly scheduled meeting time, should anyone show up with questions or issue, but in lieu of the regular meeting the Rec. contacted Ron King, landscape architect and owner of Natural Playgrounds in Concord, NH and set up a meeting time with him at the Town Park on November 21^st. Kathy Cook, Lili Spinosa, and Mary Jane Solomon were available to walk the property with Mr. King and discuss desired park improvements including toddler play areas situated so that parents can view both toddlers and older children on the playing fields. Also discussed were walking and fitness trails, sitting areas, and accessing the pond for winter skating. The need for more parking and a safer entrance/exit was expressed. Maintaining the rural character and peaceful quality of the existing park are a priority. Mr. King specializes in parks and play areas that utilize existing features and appropriately added natural material structures. The Rec. would like to work with him to develop an overall plan. Mr. King would also like to do a community presentation to demonstrate the whys and hows of such a project. Rec. will discuss this further to determine a date.
