Kensington Recreation Committee Minutes

November 10, 2004

Meeting began a t 7:00 at the Town Hall

In attendance: Dan Provost, Kathy Cook, Lorraine Petzy, John Clark, Mary Jane Solomon

Guests: Mike Motherway

Minutes of the 9/8/04 and 10/13/04 meetings were approved

Lorraine reported the Federal Grant she has been pursuing has been discontinued.

Rec. Comm. pleased with the article in Exeter News Letter about programs at K.E.S.

Still need to get the word out as programs are slow to start. Will ask to use sign in front of school for announcements. Lorraine will contact S.A.L.T. to remind them of dates for gym walking. Discussed mailers. There is no money in budget for mailers and felt it may not be that effective. Will continue to post programs in Exeter News Letter, the web-site, sign at school and Community News.

Mike Motherway reported on meeting with Lewis Family Trust representatives to discuss Town Park. Stated there was a request for an itemized maintenance budget for 2005, should the park be completed in March. Dan Provost stated he had provided figures for maintenance some time ago. Not knowing exactly what will be included in the park at that time, plus other unknown variables such as irrigation and types of lawn treatments required, make it difficult to come up with a single quote. Dan will try to work up another set of itemized figures for the meeting scheduled for 11/22/04.

John Clark is still working on pulling together the Learn to Ski Program at Bradford.

Some discussion on scheduling a Monarchs game. Will need to check school calendar.
