Also, need to ask KES if the multipurpose room could be used as an alternative site for party only in the event of rain.

John Andreasse reported on Town Park and Sawyer Field improvements. Materials and machinery have been procured at cost thanks to Dave Macek and operator and trucking charges have been waived thanks to Dave and Bill Worthen of Atlantic trucking. Stone dust will be removed from playing fields and replaced by a baseball mix. Volunteers are being recruited to spread materials. Improvements will take place October 22nd. Total cost will be $5,500. Selectmen will be asked if old stone dust can be spread over parking area to help smooth the surface.

Report of vandalism to Town Park in form of driving vehicles over field, knocking down soccer goals, and breaking filter on light. Discussion on locking gate. Selectmen will be approached on this matter. Frank Kinslow will be contacted regarding electrical repairs.

Mark Finerty asked about removing the sumac along one side of the Town Park. The area is 330’ long and 25’ wide. Removal would increase playing area. Cost to remove and grind stumps and apply bark mulch to choke new growth is $3,700. Rec. approved the work.

Selectmen will be asked about possibility of spraying around fields for mosquitoes in spring of 2006.

KYAA will be unable to meet with Rec. next month. Will send notice of alternative date, time, and location.

Lili reported on orienteering. Elementary students will receive training during P.E. classes. All Kensington residents are invited to Fort Rock Town Forest in Exeter for orienteering and a treasure hunt on November 6th.

Nancy reported Don Johnson has offered to remove old slide from park at no cost, but will first determine if it can be repaired and made safe and what that cost would be.

Repairs needed on old salt shed. Doors need to be replaced or installed. Broken window needs repair. Will check to see if town has general repairman at this time.

Selectmen have requested a Use Statement for the old salt shed. Kensington residents will have priority. Rec. will work on details of statement.

Nancy will attend CIP working meeting Oct. 20th. Rec. members will try to meet with Glenn Greenwood soon to discuss exactly what Rec. need to provide for the CIP.

John Clark can not be a regular member of the Rec. but will continue to organize the Learn to Ski Program at Bradford. A new Rec. member will need to be recruited.
