Kensington Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes

The meeting began at 6:00 pm at the Church
This meeting was designated to discuss the upcoming town festival.  The following items were reviewed Ø 5K Road Race Ø Band Ø Fireworks Ø Bake-off Ø Jumpy Houses Ø Dunk Tank Ø Craft Ø Face Painting Ø Pie Eating Contest Ø Food Ø Transportation Ø Extra Parking Ø Town Wide Kickball Ø Cones Ø KPD  Ø Signage Ø Clean-up Committee
Summer Camp – Marilyn came to the rec committee with concerns that the summer camp may not have enough revenue to cover the expenses of the busses for field trips and payroll taxes for the hired counselors due to low enrollment this year.  Despite an increase of $10.00 per child it was still not enough to cover the expenses.   Another issue that was brought forward was that a buss invoice from 2009 was paid out of this year’s 2010 summer camp budget.  Stefanie Johnstone wanted to have some time to review all of the worksheets marilyn had provided the committee and the BoS and recommended that Marilyn come to the next BoS meeting.  Stefanie was is support of bringing it to the next BoS meeting to have it put forward that the town pays for it.
