The Adult Basketball session is going well and has about 12-20 people each week.

Dawn has made the posters and will advertise the event in the Community News (March 13th deadline) and through the school.
Ski Program - Donna stated that the Ski Program’s last day was February 13th, the program was successful and everyone had a nice time. Thank you to John Clark for organizing this event.
Winter Classic –Cengiz has cancelled this event due to lack of snow and a non-workable ice rink.
Kensington Festival /Road Race- no new information was added.
Skate Board Park- Mike stated that Timberland may have the manpower to install the skate board equipment on April 22, 2010. Cengiz will map out the design with specific measurements on the placement of the equipment. He will also indicate the tools needed to install the equipment.
Ice skating rink – Donna updated the committee with the following: Donna is waiting to hear from the Granite Group about ordering the brass plugs for the drains. The plugs will go down under the grate and they are adjustable. Donna will email everyone when she receives the plugs and then Donna and Cengiz will test the plugs to see if they will hold the water. Donna or Cengiz will remove the buckets under the drains this weekend (2/21-22) and the grates will be secured down for safety reasons.
Web page – The website needs to be completed- Kay made a motion to return to the old website (the Town website) and discontinue using the new recreation website. The motion was seconded and was passed. There was some confusion regarding the website because 2 days earlier the Recreation Committee old site was linked up to the Town’s. This was before a motion and before the committee voted to return to the old site. We all agreed it is important to have our minutes posted.
Summer Camp- Marilyn Niles updated the committee with the following: the camp will be in session the weeks of July 12th, July 19th, July 26th, August 2nd, and August 9th for a total of 5 weeks. The camp day will start at 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. The tuition will include bus fees. A suggested price of $160 per week / $375 for 3 or more children was discussed; as was a payment plan of - 50% tuition to be paid to register and 50% due on June 15th. Lunch may be purchased for $4.00 (hotdog, hamburger).
Bylaws/Procedures/Mission statement/Roles – this project will need to take priority next week.
New Business:
Amesbury Sport Park- There was a huge discussion on the event and the correct procedure for signing contracts or documents. We agreed the correct procedure would be to vote on the event and then have an authorized person sign the contract. The motion was made to accept the Amesbury Sport Park as a Recreation Committee event. The motion was seconded and the motion passed. The event will take place on March 5 from 6-9 pm. Donna and Dawn will keep the committee updated on this event.
