Attendance: John Andrease, Donna Carter, Kathy Cook, Dave Macek and Nancy Roffman
Visitor: Jim Webber – requested permission to set up a button making table at the Park Opening Day on July 12th. Rec approved and would pass it by the Trust.
Visitor: Tim Cannon – secretary for KYAA and coach for EYSA: requested rates and use of multi purpose field for soccer use: 2 practices per mid-week from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and games on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00 PM. EYSA would incur
cost of painting fields. Will need field from 3rd week of August to 1st week of November.
Columbus Cup Tournament a potential: 3 on 3 in baseball fields.
Discussion:
KYAA:
· EBJL check given to Mary Jane Solomon for use of field 59 games at $10 each = $590.
· Tent City: fundraiser organized by Lili Spinosa. Use concession until 7:00PM – tents are set up after 3:00 PM and gone by 11:00 AM. Any night from August 18-25. Rec. approved expects to waive fee. Proceeds from concession to go to Trust.
· Basket Ball Hoop at Elementary School: request 2 nets (split cost between KYAA, Rec. and Kensington Elementary School. Rec’s share is $3000. Rec approved.
· Safety concern at north end of multi purpose field: need fence or net to go across to keep kids from going over.
· Request kick boards on back stop for soccer practice.
· Need wheels on large soccer nets to wheel them out onto the field.
Field Conditions:
· Warranty questions: drainage problem on softball field, 1st base and home plate and baseball field, 3rd base and home plate.
· Excessive wetness and ripping up sod on multi purpose field.
Miscellaneous:
· What did concession make after costs? (No answer at this time.)
· Bees in play structure roof: need to take precautions in the spring.
· Key box for bunker and Sawyer field.
· Key to gate is needed for camp director to bring in supplies and open for special visitors.
· East Kingston Baseball fundraiser: requesting fee for use of baseball field and pre-paid lunch at concession – 6-8 teams, day games.
Fee Structure:
· Researched towns with approximately 2000 residents: no one charges for local youth sports (an open program which is Rec connected).
· Rec approved having a statement on application indicating that all local youth organization may request a waiver of fees.
· Concession Self Service: to be discussed with Trust
