Kensington Recreation Committee Minutes

Meeting began at 7:00 at the Town Hall

In attendance: Kathy Cook, Mary Jane Solomon

There was no meeting in July.

Discussion about upcoming P.T.O. Fall Festival. It was decided Rec. should have a table offering information about ourselves, our goals, updates on the park project, programs offered at K.E.S., and a slide show of photos of recent Rec. sponsored activities. To attract kids we will offer Pumpkin Bowling, perhaps with small prizes. Balloon animals were also suggested if some one is available to make them.

Thinking ahead we might want to include a salary for a director of the summer program if number of weeks offered are increased and hours extended. This would be an in/out expense as the program itself should cover this cost.

Salary for a concession stand worker should also be determined. Again, this would hopefully be paid for through profits from the stand.

Salary for maintenance of the building(s) will need to be separate.

Three weeks of Camp in the Park went well. All were able to be held at the park, though the third was amid tree stumps.
