Conservation CommissionThe Conservation Commission's mission is to properly utilize and protect the natural resources in the Town of Kensington. To that end, the Commission works to: (1) Prepare and maintain a Natural Resource Inventory; (2) Manage Conservation Land/Town Forest; (3) Develop Conservation Plans; and (4) Facilitate the preservation of Open Space. In addition the Commission works with local landowners on issues where wetlands and other natural resources could be impacted. The Conservation Commission meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm at the Town Hall. All meetings are open to the public. The Kensington Conservation Commission is also thrilled to announce that on June 17, 2008 the Cole Farm was officially placed in a conservation easement. These 41.12 acres of productive prime, unique soils, farm and forest land will also be protected from development in perpetuity. Although the FRLPP grant was denied even through the appeal process, due to a generous donation, the KCC was able to complete the acquisition.
