Kensington Conservation Commission
Minutes of August 10, 2010
Members in attendance: Heather Douglas, Sydnee Goddard, Joan Skewes
1. Call to order 7:45.
2. Minutes approved.
3. Group reviewed draft purchase and sales agreement for the Sargent property and created a list of questions. Sydnee will speak to Brian Hart, director of the Southeast Land Trust about them. The purchase and sale will not be signed, and survey and hazardous waste evaluation will not occur, until there is confirmation that the bank will extend the foreclosure date on the Sargent property.
4. Motion to expend an additional $2,000 to a total of $6,800 in survey costs to include the location of structures, septic and water remaining on the Sargent land, as required by the Planning board to show the proposed lot line adjustment creates a conforming lot. Unanimously approved.
5. Motion to pay security deposit of $5,000 from the Kensington Conservation Commission fund when the Sargent purchase and sale is signed. Unanimously approved.
6. Motion to pay up to $225 from the Kensington Conservation Commission administrative dues to the New Hampshire Association of Conservation Commissions for 2010 membership dues. Unanimously approved.
7. Sydnee reported that the state said the town cannot use Kensington Conservation Commission funds to pay off a municipal bond. Conservation funds must be used to acquire conservation land, and the Kimball property has already been placed in conservation. Sydnee to inform the selectmen of this finding.
8. Adjourned 8:50 p.m.
