Minutes of January 12, 2010

Members in attendance: Heather Douglas, Sydnee Goddard, Joan Skewes, Rob Garneau

1.      Call to order 7:40.

2.      Minutes approved.

3.      Sydnee attended a selectmen’s meeting to propose the idea of purchasing the back 15 acres of the Sargent land and the selectman gave approval to pursue the plan.  A motion was made to expend Kensington Conservation Commission funds to pay for 50 percent of the cost of the appraisal to determine the fee simple value of the back 15 acres of Sargent property, not to exceed $1750.  The appraiser used shall be agreed upon by the KCC, John Sargent and the Southeast Land Trust.  Motion unanimously approved.

4.      Kay Cardoni, chair of the Kensington Recreation Committee, attended the meeting to discuss town trails.  She is interested in encouraging more people to use the trails and would like the KCC to show her where they are.  It was also recommended to put the Hodges trail map on the recreation committee website.

5.      Sydnee read an email from Mike Speltz of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests regarding the Rider property and questions about our proposed changes to the agreement.  The group recommended that Sydnee advise Mike that we would like to keep our recommended changes.

6.      Adjourned 8:40 p.m.
