Kensington Conservation Commission
Minutes of October 20, 2009
Members in attendance: Heather Douglas, Sydnee Goddard, Joan Skewes, Rob Garneau
1. Call to order 7:40.
2. Minutes approved.
3. Dave Viale from the Southeast Land Trust met with Conservation Commission to discuss moving forward with conserving the Sargent property. They performed a site walk and plan to have a committee vote on Nov. 4. Before then, Dave will talk to John Sargent about any concerns, issues and finances. Sydnee will check to see exactly how much funds are available in the Conservation Commission account. A motion was made to pay 50% of the appraisal from Conservation Commission funds, not to exceed $1,500, with an expectation that John Sargent will pay the other 50%. Motion was unanimously approved.
4. Group discussed a complaint from a Kensington resident about people crossing his property to access trails on the Pine Tree Trust. The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (SPNHF), not the Kensington Conservation Commission, holds the easement on that property and concerns should be brought to them.
5. Group reviewed draft Ryder agreement and made edits to the document, which Sydnee will present to Mike Speltz of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.
6. Sydnee received additional information about a light industrial park at 213 Haverhill Road in East Kingston that abuts town conservation land. The activity occurring there is not a concern.
7. Adjourned 9:00 p.m.
