Minutes KCC meeting July 19, 2007

Members in attendance:  Sydnee Goddard, Heather Douglas, Joan Skewes, Harry Bodwell

1. Call to order 8pm

2. Discussed options for use of trail grant funds.  Sydnee confirmed that we have over $5,000 left in High Farms Trust funds for work on trails, but need to expend approximately $1,300 to complete the grant.  Sydnee received a $2,000 estimate for putting stones between two fields.  However, because this plan would require excavation of soil and due to the proximity of wetland, a wetland permit would probably be required to do this.  The project needs to be completed by August 30^th and a wetland permit would probably not come through in time to meet that deadline.  Additionally, Harry suggested that haying equipment could possibly access the back field from another location that might require less stone.  Members discussed the alternative plan of placing stepping stones along a wet area of the trail.  Decided that this plan would have a more significant positive impact on the trails and would not require a wetland permit. 

Motion made to expend up to $2,000 for purchase and installation of stepping stones to be installed at a wetland crossing immediately adjacent to the area where the water bar was created.  Motion seconded and unanimously approved. 

3. Motion to reimburse Sydnee for sign materials purchased.  Seconded and approved unanimously.
