Minutes of June 12, 2007

Members in attendance: Rob Garneau, Joan Skewes, Harry Bodwell,  Sydnee Goddard, Heather Douglas

 

1. Call to order 7:40pm

2. Minute approved

3. Discussed latest on Cole easement.  FRPP award has been rescinded due to presence of airstrip on property.  A new funding source is needed to complete the Cole easement.  Rob will write a letter to possible donor and contact a town member who may provide assistance with fund raising.  Discussed other farmland properties that may qualify for the FRPP award.  Sydnee will set up a meeting with Mary Currier and the Coles.

4.   Discuss wetlands meeting scheduled with Planning Board for June 19th.  Rob, Joan, and Heather will be at the meeting.  Questioned whether KCC funds can be used to pay the  $10,000 required to get Kensington’s prime wetlands mapped.

5.  Discussed trails.  Sydnee suggested that we delay trail work to the fall when working conditions will be more comfortable.  Heather submitted a notice to community news regarding property usage of trails.  Rob shared his concern about recent damage to Meeting House Hill trails from horses.  The horses have created an erosion problem.

6.  Motion to reimburse Sydnee for mailing expenses.  Seconded and approved unanimously.

7.  Discussed ATV use of town trails.  Member recommended that Sydnee ask police to speak with landowner who rode on town conservation land.

8.  Sydnee will send in for reimbursement to NH Trail Bureau Program, which funded our trail work in Hodges.
