KCC minutes of Sept 12, 2006

Members in attendance: Rob Garneau, John Skewes, Joan Skewes, Harry Bodwell, Sydnee Goddard

1. Call to order 7:45

3. Mail

• Motion to make donation of $100 to Rockingham Land Trust, seconded and approved unanimously.
• Received notice that owners that donate a portion of the value of an easement can deduct more from their income and over more years. 
• Received notice that SPNHF can send voter reminders to SPNHF members before conservation related votes.  Sydnee will check on this.
• Received notice from SPACE that land owners who have land in current use and allow recreation on it can get additional 20% discount on taxes.
• Received application form from NROC.  Not going to apply this year.

4. Trails work planning

• Joan suggested we ask about town liability if volunteer is injured.  Sydnee will check on this.
• Discussion of whether to mow the trail from parking area to woods trail.  Harry will mow this time, but members disagree on value of future mowing. 
• Will have a volunteer sign up sheet to keep track of volunteered hours as required by NH Trails Bureau Program

5. Discussed progress on potential Kimball Farm easement.  Sydnee will check on how to handle donations.

6. Discussed progress on Rider property.   A forester from SPNHF has walked the property.  SPNHF appears interested in working with the Riders to conserve Rider's and neighboring properties.   Riders abut Kimball and Great Brook Conservation Area as well as properties in Exeter and East Kingston.

7.  Sydnee shared that Theresa Walker intends to bring suggested new regulations to planning board Oct. 20.  Regulations would require developers to do an environmental impact assessment.  Another regulation would limit access to Kensington land through another town.

8.  Next Kimball Farm Volunteers meeting in Thursday Sept 14 at 7:30 in Town hall.  Sydnee and Joan will attend.
