Minutes of Oct 11, 2005

Members in attendance: Sydnee Goddard, John Skewes, Joan Skewes

 

1. Call to order 7:39

 

2. Minutes approved.

 

3. Reviewed final documents on Boudreau Conservation Easement

 

4. Heard from Paul Kimball regarding desire to place his property in a conservation easement.  He thinks there may be possibility of getting some funding through historical value. John encouraged Paul to work with Phil Auger who will help the Kimballs determine how to conserve the land. 

 

5. Paul Kimball requested permission to enter Great Brook Conservation Area, town land off 108, to access the South Corner of his property to cut trees for cord wood.   Discussion was postponed until more members were present.

 

6. Joan indicated that she will meet with John Bell this week regarding the creation of a gravel parking area for Charles Hodges Conservation Area.

 

7. Sydnee shared that the deeded access to Charles Hodges Conservation Area from Kensington Place is at 18 French Lane as defined on Tax Map 11 lot 40-29.  This is a future trail head location and will get an entrance sign.

 

8. Capital Improvement Plan meeting announced- scheduled for 7pm Thursday Oct 20.  Planning Board wishes the KCC to be there.

 

9. John will contact appraisers to get estimates for a limited appraisal for Cole Property. Phil Auger has supplied a list of appropriate appraisers, who are also able to complete a yellow book appraisal, which may be needed in future. 

 

10. Discussed "NO HUNTING" signs on Charles Hodges Conservation Area.  John suggested we post it with the legal size signs.  This is contrary to earlier discussion that supported posting small circular signs with the following information “No Hunting, Charles Hodges Conservation Area, Town of Kensington".   No final decision made.
