Kensington Conservation Commission

Minutes for Sept. 14, 2004

Members in attendance: John Skewes, Joan Skewes, Rob Garneau, Sydnee Goddard

Location: Kensington Public Library

 

1.  Call to order 7:34pm

 

2.  Rob reported that he plans to walk the perimeter of Meeting House Hill Property with Karen Rubin on Sept. 29 at 8am.  Karen is working for Rockingham Land Trust and monitoring the easement.  They will post conservation land signs along the boundary.

 

3.  Rob requested that a KCC member verify that the Meeting House Hill survey is complete and at the town hall.  If it is, we need to make a final payment to Tom Brouillette for the survey. 

 

4. Proposed meeting on Tuesday 28th at 7:30 at library to discuss plan for Hodges.  John will contact Charlie Moreno to determine the status of tree marking in the Hodges land.

 

5.  Update on Barbara Boudreau easement.  Barbara waiting for a perk test.

 

6. Theresa Walker brought maps of this area showing a Course Filter of Significant Wildlife Habitat.  Map indicates value of these lands as wildlife habitat.

 

7. John will try to set up a meeting between Paul Kimball and Tracy Degnan of Rockingham County Conservation District.

 

8.  Discussed how Theresa Walker could assist KCC.  Discussed possibility of increasing set back for wetlands.  Discussed Prime Wetland Mapping.  Theresa will check on other towns that have had Prime Wetland Mapping and the costs.  Theresa will talk to Jill Robinson, who works with Kensington Planning Board, to see if there are glaring weaknesses in our land use regulations.
