Kensington Conservation Commission
Minute of May 11, 2004 meeting, Town Hall
Members in attendance: Rob Garneau, John Skewes, Joan Skewes, Sydnee Goddard, Harry Bodwell
1. Call to order 7:37pm
2. Minutes approved
3. Theresa Walker of Rockingham Planning Commission informed KCC that she has received a Coastal Program grant that will allow her to work with five conservation commissions in the watershed area. KCC can decide if we want her help with our projects. We do.
4. Barbara Boudreau presented her idea to put 24 acres of her property in conservation. Her land abuts KES and Meeting House Hill conservation land. Agreed that KCC members would walk her land at 8pm following Saturday.
Theresa suggested the "Land and Water Conservation Fund" a federal program or NAWCA as sources of grants. NAWCA grants up to $50,000 with deadline in July.
5. Rob indicated that Tom Brouillette of Exeter received our approval to survey Meeting House Hill conservation land and that he has just finished field work for the survey.
6. Rob reported that Arlene Allen of DES walked Dick Welsh land on May 5. Report of her finding will be coming.
7. John will call Charlie Moreno regarding Hodges Conservation Land. KCC wants to keep implementation of management plan moving forward.
8. Status of attempts to purchase SAU 16 land discussed. Motion to pay up to $750 for appraisal of SAU land unanimously approved.
9. Discussed future projects.
